WHOLE TREES
Trees delight us with their small details: the weirdly wonderful ways roots twist and twine themselves around rocks, the delicate veining of leaves, the texture of bark, the pink of the red horse chestnut blossoms. I am particularly partial to the blossoms of redbud trees and the winged samaras of maples. Trees are equally glorious when viewed as a whole.
In this section there will be photos of trees standing as individuals evoking awe and admiration. Other photos capture trees in groups because when we see several trees together the collage of texture, shape and color is breathtaking. These trees were found in forests, botanical gardens, arboretums, parks, residential yards and random, neglected clumps on the side of the road. |
